Evangelist Daniel John Lee

And to the angel of the congregation in Philadelphia write -- These things says He that is holy, He that is true, He that has the Key of David, He that opens, and no man shuts, and shuts, and no man opens.  I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a little strength, and have kept My Word, and have not denied My Name . . ."

Christmas & Hanukkah 2010 - by Daniel John Lee

NOTE: This article was written for Hanukkah 2010.

Hanukkah 2013 is from 12/28/13 until 1/4/14.

Hanukkah 2014 is from 12/17/14 until 12/24/14.

Greetings all in the Matchless Love of YahShua!

Yes, it IS that time of year again.

Christmas came from the Feast of Saturnalia that has been celebrated on the Roman date 12/25 for thousands and thousands of years.

Did you know the early Puritans outlawed Christmas because of its pagan roots?

In fact George Washington DEFEATED the British in a KEY battle on Christmas Eve. While the British soldiers were drunk, celebrating their paganism, Washington crushed their foes and turned the tide of the American Revolution. Because Washington refused to honor the pagan tradition of Christmas, he was given amazing victory.

Jeremiah 10:1-6 very clearly shows what Yahweh thinks of what has now, in our modern age, become the Christmas Tree.

Christmas and everything associated with this holiday is a total and complete abomination to Yahweh.

Hannukah -- or more scripturally -- the Feast of Dedication -- is something that in modern Judaism has become polluted with Talmudic and man made tradition. The myth about the oil burning, the spinning of the dice, and all this nonsense, is an abomination to Yahweh.

However, we see in John 10:22-23 that YahShua Himself celebrated the Feast of Dedication by teaching at the Temple.  The Feast of Dedication, 8 days in length, was much different and more pure in the 1st century than it is in 2010.

What was this PURE form of Hannukah?

The Feast of Dedication is to celebrate the 8 days it took to FULLY rededicate the Temple after the Jewish people, zealous for Torah and filled with Yah's Spirit, defeated the mighty Greek empire, in a "George Washington" like comeback!  Yes, I realize I just used an anachronism.  :)

The Greeks had forced the Jews to abandon Torah and to violate shabbat, eating pork and polluting the Temple.  The Jews, REFUSING to submit to this, against all odds, drove back the Greek empire.  Mind you, it was just a SMALL band of Jews who accomplished this.  A true David vs Goliath story.

It is this pure form of the Feast of Dedication which YahShua celebrated.

So, come, my brothers -- let us KEEP THE FEAST OF DEDICATION -- celebrating how a small group of men drove back the most powerful empire in the world all because they had a zeal for Torah and a heart for Yahweh!

For those following the accurate Hebrew calendar this year, the Feast of Dedication begins on the evening of 12/30 and goes for 8 days.
