Hebrews 3 discusses, among other topics, the rebel Hebrews who hardened their hearts in the wilderness.
As the passage continues in chapter 4, I saw something AMAZING for the first time this evening.
“Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
“For UNTO US WAS THE GOSPEL PREACHED, AS WELL AS UNTO THEM (the rebel Hebrews in the wilderness): but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”
Hebrews 4:1-2
The author of Hebrews plainly declares that the SAME gospel received by the 1st century believers was also preached to the Israelites at Mount Sinai!
Yah is the same yesterday, today and forever and His standard of righteousness has NEVER changed. He has always asked us to place our faith in Him, our absolute trust in the Almighty, that we might keep his commandments.
The gospel that thundered forth from Mount Sinai was the SAME gospel preached by YahShua the Messiah in the ReNEWed Covenant!
