One of the ways we can tell modern Christianity is not scriptural is its ostentatious nature. Modern Christianity has its roots in Roman Catholicism, which, even to this day, is decked in the pomp and wealth of imperial Rome. I was struck a few weeks ago as I watched the news when I saw the pope claim himself to be but a humble servant of God. He said this while arrayed in the finest robes, before a lavish palace in Rome.
The Roman Catholic popes were arrayed in the finest wealth, while the saints were living in dens and mountains, trying to avoid the Roman Catholic sword.
Today, her Protestant Daughters are no better. Because modern Christianity has no root in scripture and is wholly a creation of Satan, it is necessarily ostentatious. It is a religion that attempts to draw the attention of man.
The pastor on Sunday stands before an audience like an actor on a stage, peforming for his congregants. This is in stark opposition to the synagogue-style service Paul mentions in Corinthians where everyone shares a word, a prophecy, a tongue, etc. The Torah-based religion of Judaism still operates by the synagogue style, in which people face each other and everyone who wishes contributes to the religion meetings.
Christians dress up realy nicely for church services -- an ostentaious action of attracting the attention of the world.
Christians, while rejecting Torah, attempt to build lavish churches, hold church socials, create intense dramatic productions and do a number of things that, while being very ostentatious, does very little in the way of bringing the heathen to Torah.
YahShua was a humble man, lowly and meek, often without a home to sleep in. Though He was popular with the poor, He was despised by the rulers and wealthy of His day. Yet pastors want the wealthy in their churches to help the tithe offerings. Wealth is sought after, not rejected by the prosperity churches.
Even the poorer and smaller christian churches become ostentatious as they seek to make a loud shewing of giving to the poor and widows, but fail to obey basic commandments in scripture.
Jim Webber, a street preacher, was wholly bent on attracting attention to himself at UCLA, a means for him to ostentatiously soak up the attention of the students. He was wholly bent on destroying the conviction of the Ruach as he opposed me, and his motive for preaching was simply due to strife and attracting attention. He has received his earthly reward already.
Those who are sincere and truly love Messiah but are ignorant of the evils of christianity may be able to walk in humility, but even they will be disgusted by the ostentatious displays that often occurs within their religion. Christianty is inherently ostentatious because it is built on a false, unscriptural foundation. It is in direct violation to Matthew 5:17-21.
Keeping Torah on the other hand strips away narcissism. Keeping Torah often makes you the laughing stock of friends and family. Keeping Torah causes the world to jeer at you in order for them to avoid conviction. It does not make you popular.
Keeping Torah is foolishness to the Gentiles and a stumbling block to the Talmud-worshipping Jews. It is often a lonely path, but does help build much humility of spirit.
Away with this pretentious, ostentatious religion known as Christianity! It is time for a reformation in which christianity is done away with and Torah -- the scripture alone -- is embraced!
