Romans 2:18


"And knowest His will, and approvest the things that are MORE EXCELLENT, being instructed out of the Torah . . ."

Romans 2 records Apostle Sha'ul carefully proving that the Jewish belivers in Rome, who know the letter of the Torah, will find the "letter obediance" useless if they do not also keep the spirit of Torah. Many Gentiles, who are ignorant of the letter of Torah, do keep the spirit of Torah and this is to the Jewish shame who attempt to keep the Torah only in letter but refuse to do it in spirit.

The point? Only by keeping the Torah in BOTH the letter and spirit is Torah kept properly. The Torah given to Moshe was designed to be kept in the newness of the Spirit, keeping every jot and tittle by the Ruach of Truth. The Jews tried to magnify the letter and forget about the spiritual dimension. The Gentiles have tried to magnify the spiritual dimension while ignorning the letter. Both cultish mindests are wrong.

Yet in the above verse we find that those who are instructed out of the Torah, and properly keep the Torah, know how to approve the things which are MORE EXCELLENT.

Wow. The Torah, keeping the Torah, wearing the fringes, eating kosher, keeping shabbat, doing, doing, doing allows us the MORE EXCELLENT way of life. Literally builds our gift of the discernment.

Yet pagan christians claim keeping Torah is a burden, a yoke and enslaves us????? What Bible are they reading?????
